DAY CAMP THEME WEEKS 2023
YMCA Camp Clay themes help to make your camper’s experience more fresh and fun each week. Theme activities are sprinkled into the schedule throughout the week and they may include craft activities, active games, or we may take a traditional camp activity and put a theme twist on it! Check out our theme activities and descriptions below!
Week 1: (June 5 - 9) Big Machines Week
Welcome to Camp Clay Day Camp 2023! We are kicking off the summer with BIG MACHINES! Join us to find out what they look like...inside and out! Learn who runs them, what they do, and where they get used!
Week 2: (June 12 - 16) Build It Week
Can we build it? YES! WE CAN! This week, we're finding our own materials, building our own structures, creating our own games, and so much more! Bring your creative clothes and thinking brains for this week!
Week 3: (June 19 - 23) Messy Madness Week
Slide into this week with your old clothes because things are going to get MESSY! Each day will bring a new mess with a twist on your favorite games. Does it get messier than whipped cream pie? Let's find out together!
Week 4: (June 26 - June 30) Goin Green Week
Get out of the house and into nature this week as we GO GREEN! We'll be exploring, identifying plants, building forts, and gaining an appreciation for the natural world around us! Be sure to bring your sunscreen and bug spray, we will be having a lot of fun outdoors!
Week 5: (July 5 - 7) Party in the USA Week (No camp on Monday July 3 and Tuesday July 4 - reduced price this week)
This week is to celebrate America's birthday! We'll be doing so with classic pastimes like four square, kickball, capture the flag, and more! We will also be taking a look back in time at what life may have looked like when America was born.
Week 6: (July 10 - 14) Holiday Week
What's your favorite holiday? Join us this week and celebrate all of them! We will be looking into different cultures and their holidays and learning about our similarities and differences. Exploring through costumes, skits, and foods! This week will be one for the history books!
Week 7: (July 17 - 21) Splashtopia Week
Let's dive into Splashtopia with our hats and hearts in tow! Bring your swim gear each day because we are going to make a SPLASH with different outdoor and water challenges Are you a splash master?!
Week 8: (July 24 - 28) Color Me Crazy Week
We hope that you enjoy the rainbow as much as we do...because this week at camp we'll be exposed to all sorts of colors in all sorts of ways! Make sure you bring extra clothes for after our colorful crafts and paint balloons!
Week 9: ( July 31 - August 4) Treasure Hunt Week
"X" marks the spot for fun! We will explore different terrains and discover what it's like to be treasure hunters! Games, crafts, and activities will put your brains and loyalties to the test! Can you solve the clues?
Week 10: (August 7 - 11) We Are Family Week
Wrap up your summer with a s'mores, a talent show, and a fun campfire! We'll be getting together and having fun singing songs and sharing memories this last week.
You'll reflect on a great summer of FUN by the time this week is over!
