The YMCA of Van Wert County hosts youth and adult programs centered around the Y's mission and that mission is, "To put Christian principals into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all". We use this mission to support our program curriculum in both youth and adult programs.
Our youth sports programs are great for teaching beginners' fundamental skills and teamwork. Here at the YMCA we are for Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. That means that through our sports programs, youth participants will learn healthy habits, individual and team responsibility, and how to build relationships with others. The YMCA is not focused on wins and losses in our programs. We are more focused on teaching youth the skills and having as much fun as possible!
Adult sports at the Y are a great way to stay active and bond with friends or make new connections with other adults. We offer adult basketball leagues, and member driven pickleball tournaments at different times of the year.
We enjoy serving the Van Wert community through our programs and we look forward to seeing you all at the Y!

I serve as the Program Director here at the Van Wert YMCA. I started back in 2017 at the Lima YMCA as the teen and youth development Director and then came to the Van Wert YMCA in 2018 and have been here ever since! The main reason why I got into this profession is because of the youth. I enjoy being around the youth and the community and helping them achieve things that maybe they thought they couldn't. The most rewarding part of my job is watching a boy or girl start week 1 and possibly struggling with whatever sport or activity they are doing and by week 6 they have advanced so much that they are doing it on there own and having the most fun doing it. That is the best part of being at the YMCA.
Outside of the job, I enjoy golfing, being around family and friends, and traveling to new places. I enjoy being at the lake and spending time around water and doing all the outdoor activities.
Hope to see everyone here at the YMCA taking advantage of the amazing programs here at the YMCA.
