Camp Clay

Aqua Park and Splash Pad

Camp Clay Aqua Park & Splash Pad features 7 water attractions, 3 floating mats, and a boating area with canoes, kayaks, SUPs, and pedal boats. Ride the raft to the island or try the water zip line! The splash pad has spray features for all ages and is fully accessible. Life vests are required. Concessions available.

 The Jungle Jim has a variety of uses for swimmers.  Climb on and jump off, slide down the corners, go inside, or launch a friend on the blast bag!

    Splash Pad is a safe, fun, and fully accessible water play area for all ages. With gentle spray features and ground spouts, it’s perfect for children, seniors, and guests with special needs to cool off and enjoy the water.

    • A type III US Coast Guard approved life vest must be worn by ALL swimmers in the Aqua Park. 
    • Vests are provided at no extra cost or you can bring your own. 
    • Puddle jumpers are permitted in the shallow areas. 
    • Rough play is not permitted anywhere in the park.
    • Always enter the water feet first, please no head first dives anywhere in the park.
    • Please do not swim under docks or equipment.  Stay where lifeguards can see you the best.
    • Only 8 swimmers on a piece of inflatable equipment at one time.  Please be courteous of others.
    • Appropriate swim wear only in the inflatable aqua park.  No cut offs/clothing with metal/sharp edges.
    • Children 5 and under must have direct adult supervision in the park at all times while in the water. 
    • If adults bring younger children into the deep areas, they must stay within arms reach at all times.
    • Please follow all lifeguard instructions at all times.
    • 3 Whistle blasts means please clear the water as quickly and safely as possible. 
    • Follow staff instructions in the event of an emergency.
    • Follow all standard boating rules in the boating area. (Rules are posted next to boating area).
    • Be safe, have fun, and stay alert!  If you see an unsafe/emergency situation please inform a lifeguard immediately.

    • You must have an admission wristband to participate in aquatic activities.
    • Smoking/Vaping is only allowed in 2 designated areas.  Signs are posted for designated areas.
    • You may bring in coolers with food and drink for a $10 fee.  No glass or alcohol is allowed during public hours. Coolers can/will be periodically checked for alcohol and glass.  
    • Concessions are available in the park.
    • Beach toys may be used with staff approval.
    • Please place all trash into one of the 12 trash barrels located around camp.  Leave our site better than you found it!
    • We encourage patrons to leave electronics/valuables at home or locked safe in your vehicle.
    • In the event of inclement weather, rain passes will be given for paid admissions if the park is closed for more than 50% of the day.
    • Small propane grills will be allowed for a $20 fee.  No charcoal grills at all.  
    • No pets allowed in the park.
    • Failure to follow these or other posted/verbal rules may result in ejection from the park.

    Park Hours/ Pricing/Season Passes

    Open 7 days a week Starting Memorial Day until mid August (then weekends only)

     YMCA Camp Clay is open for public swimming on a daily basis.  Admission includes all aquatic activities in the park.  Since we are an outdoor facility involving water based activities, we are subject to changes in the weather.  If thunder or lightning is detected in the area, we must have all swimmers exit the water and turn off the splash pad for a minimum of 30 minutes from the last time we hear thunder or see lightning.  Please check the weather and plan your visit to Camp Clay accordingly.

    Admission Cost

     Monday - Thursday:               $8 per person
    Friday - Sunday:                     $10 per person

    2 years and under are free of charge with a purchase of 1 paid Admission. Senior Pass is $6 per person.
    If you are not participating in the aquatic activities, you will not be charged admission.

    Coolers, Grills and Canopy

     $10 per cooler brought into the park.  No glass bottles or alcohol please. 

    $20 to bring in a small grill.  Propane only, no charcoal please.

    $20 Prime location Canopy rental. 

    Discounts

    Membership Discount:
    Members of the YMCA of Van Wert County will receive $4 off admission per person!
    (Show your YMCA Member Card for discount)

    Group Discount:
    Groups of MORE THAN 10 people will receive $1 off of each individual admission.

    Season Passes

     You can purchase season passes for individuals and families.  Season passes will provide you with admission to the park ANY DAY of the summer when we are open to the public.  Family passes will include EVERY member of your household.  Passes are laminated.  Can be purchased at the YMCA.  Season passes include COOLER FEE all summer!  You can bring your family cooler any day you visit the park!!

    Special Events at Camp Clay

     Special events may be hosted at Camp Clay that are open to the public.  These events may be sponsored by local businesses or camp partners and may include extra activities (in addition to the aqua park) or change the admission cost for the public.  Please see the calendar below for dates, costs, and details!


    Aqua Park Opening Weekend in May (weather depending) follow on social media for dates

    Peony Festival Youth Fishing Derby– follow on social media for dates 

    A youth fishing derby operated by the Peony Festival Board and hosted at YMCA Camp Clay! Participation is free of charge.  Open to youth ages 6 - 16 years old.  Prizes available.  Adults may assist youth with pole set up and maintenance, youth must catch fish unassisted.  


    Elks Free Day sponsored by the ELKS B.P.O.E. 1197 -follow on social media for dates

    Elks Lodge 1197 have sponsored the Elks Free Day for Summer!  This means FREE admission to the park for the community.  Anyone may attend.  Lifejackets are limited, we encourage patrons to bring your own Type 3 vest style lifejacket to avoid waiting.  Feel free to come enjoy the aqua park and splash pad free of charge!


    Camp Clay Private Events - YMCA Camp Clay will be closed to the public on specific days for private events. Please follow us on social media to stay updated as well as our Main Camp Clay page.

    After Hours Aqua Park Rentals

     YMCA Camp Clay offers private, after hours, rentals of the aqua park for your family/friends/coworkers!  Host a birthday party, a work event, or youth group!

    You can bring as many people as you want in your party and have exclusive use of the aqua park and splash pad.   This can include boating and the water zip line if we have enough staff available.  You may bring in food and drinks for your party.  If you would like to use one of our propane grills there is a small extra cost.  Exclusive after-hours rentals available throughout the week, please contact Camp Clay Director.

    • $100 per hour for 2 lifeguards ($50 per hour for each additional lifeguard)
