Child Watch
At our YMCA, we believe that every family deserves the opportunity to prioritize their health and wellness and that starts with knowing your little ones are in great hands. Our Child Watch Program provides a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn, play, and grow while you focus on your workout and well-being.
Program Details:
- Ages: 6 months – 6 years
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM
- Cost: FREE for members | $5 per day for non-members
- Please Note: Children must be able to sit up independently so that our staff can provide equal attention and care to all children in the program.

We believe in celebrating every child's creativity! Kids in our Child Watch Program create crafts and artwork that are proudly displayed throughout our facility — including in our Senior Area downstairs — spreading joy to everyone who walks through our doors.
Weather & School Delay Policy:
We follow local school schedules to ensure the safety of our youngest members:
- School Delay: Child Watch will begin at a delayed start time accordingly
- School Cancellation: Child Watch will be canceled for that day
We recommend checking for updates on days when weather may be a factor.

We have a private Facebook group exclusively for parents of children enrolled in the Child Watch Program. This is a great way to stay informed, connected, and up to date with program news and activities. Meet Our Child Watch Coordinator
Skylar Sherry
Meet Skylar, the heart and soul behind our Child Watch Program. As a mom herself, Skylar knows firsthand how challenging it can be to carve out time for your own health and wellness — and that understanding is exactly what drives her passion for making sure every parent who walks through our doors feels confident, comfortable, and completely at ease leaving their little ones in her care.
While Skylar balances another job outside of the YMCA, her dedication to the Child Watch Program never wavers. The moment she walks in and sees those little faces light up, it's clear — this is exactly where she is meant to be.
Skylar has a natural gift for connecting with young children. From interactive story time to imaginative crafts proudly displayed throughout our facility, she puts tremendous thought and love into every activity she creates. And if you're lucky, you might just walk in on a day when she's brought in some of her homemade baked goods to share with the kiddos — because yes, she loves to bake too! 🍪
One of Skylar's greatest passions is introducing children to the joy and excitement of special holiday celebrations — giving them a taste of what school life has in store and showing them just how fun it can be. From Halloween trick-or-treating with our Seniors to Easter egg hunts in the lobby, Skylar goes above and beyond to create magical, memorable moments that kids talk about long after the day is over.
Her creativity and community spirit also shine through in the fundraisers she organizes throughout the year — including a beloved lemonade stand in the summer and baked goods sales in the fall — all to raise funds for updated toys and craft supplies that keep the program fresh, fun, and engaging for every child.
At the core of everything Skylar does is a deep adoration for the little ones in her care and an unwavering commitment to watching them grow, flourish, and get ready for the exciting journey of school ahead. Her passion is undeniable — you can see it in every craft displayed on our walls, every egg hidden in the lobby, and every smile she brings out of the kids each and every day.
